McDavid needs to request trade out of Edmonton!

The Edmonton Oilers’ playoff hopes keep fading despite the Western Conference team trying everything it can to clinch a spot. On Sunday night, they fell 6-3 at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights. Captain Connor McDavid recorded two assists in the loss, as the star player always tries his best to keep his team in the game and in the run for a playoff spot. 

Before Monday night’s action, the Oilers stood seven points behind the Arizona Coyotes for that last Wild Card spot in the West. Yes, the Coyotes… The Minnesota Wild, the Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks stand in the way. 

Fans seem to be convinced that McDavid has had enough and many were quick to remember what NHL insider Pierre LeBrun revealed during last Thursday night’s edition of Insider Trading on TSN. 

“I will say this and this is just my own opinion. If this is still the way things are in Edmonton in three years, who knows. I mean he signed a long-term deal but at this point it’s silly for anyone to think that he would want out.”

Fans took to social media in the past hours to point out that McDavid might want to request a trade sooner than later. 

McDavid is surely a hard worker, however, as he gets older and most likely better in the NHL, something will have to give. 

While we may want to wait a few years to revisit this conversation, it seems like fans want it to happen now so McDavid can play with a contender team, like he deserves to.
