The Montreal Canadiens have been holding out hope that goaltender Carey Price would make a return this season, but according to a report from French language paper La Presse, that hope may be unrealistic.
Richard Labbe gave a particularly bleak description of the situation in Montreal surrounding Price right now.
"The possibility of a return for Price this season are so slim that even those close to the Habs no longer believe it's possible," said Labbe in his report.
"According to information obtained by La Presse, the Canadiens themselves are no longer holding out hope that Price will return for the regular season..."
Labbe went on to state that he has been told a return for post-season play is a remote possibility, but he called even that scenario "highly optimistic."
