The New Jersey Devils said they were looking for a fresh start this season, and they showed their fans they mean business on Saturday.

For their home opener against the Colorado Avalanche, the Devils were the first to score. 

Adam Herinque got the crowd to its feet, and NCAA former star and Devils rookie Will Butcher recorded an assist, for his first career NHL point. 

The kid is showing great energy on the ice, and we are sure it won't be the last point of his promising career.
