Nasty hit on Toffoli at least deserves an hearing, NHL says.

Mark Borowiecki of the Ottawa Senators laid down a nasty hit on Tyler Toffolo, early in the first period during saturday's game. Borowiecki was called for boarding, a five minutes major but stayed in the game. Toffoli was rushed to the dark room as per NHL concussion protocol but came back in the game eventually.

Mark Borowiecki will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety today.

Earlier this season, Tom Gilbert was suspended for something pretty similar to this hit. The result, a 3-game suspension for the Kings defenseman.
