This just in, NHL Player Safety has suspended Winnipeg Jets forward Adam Lowry two games for his hit from behind on Calgary Flames defencemanOliver Kylington at Saturday evening’s Heritage Classic from Regina, Saskatchewan.

Check it out:

And here is the hit in question:

Lowry was assessed just a two minute minor for the hit, but the belief amongst media analysts during the game was that Lowry would be looking at supplemental discipline. Today's news obviously confirms that.

The 26 year old Lowry was also suspended last March for a high sticking infraction on Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg.

Remember this swash-buckling move?

As a result of his suspension Lowry will forfeit over $70,000 salary while he watches his team player from the press box. In 12 games to start the 2019-20 season, Lowry has gone pointless. In 371 career NHL games, all with the Jets, Lowry has 53 goals, 113 points and 196 penalty minutes.

If you happened to miss Saturday's Heritage Classic from Regina, Saskatchewan, you missed out on some incredible theatre. Mosaic Stadium, home of the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, played host to a game that featured plenty of snowfall and some chilly conditions.
