A National Hockey League president has responded to some serious accusations levied against his team today.

Earlier today we reported on comments from an Irish footballer named Lee Chin, who essentially revealed that there was a rather intense drinking culture in the Vancouver Canucks locker room, one that may have even stemmed from the coach.

Team president Trevor Linden has since responded to those comments in rather predictable fashion:

"Our team recently accepted a request for Lee-Chin and a TV show for access to an individual on-ice skills session and a game with Canucks alumni. We were disappointed to learn of the comments made in an Irish Times article about his experience; the assumptions made by Lee-Chin on hockey culture and reported by the Irish Times are basless and categorically false. They do not reflect our players, their conduct or the culture of our game in any way,"

Obviously the Canucks have every reason to refute the comments from Chin, however the real question now is would Chin really make this up? As a Irish football player it seems like disparaging the Canucks for the sake of disparaging them makes very little sense.
