No real change to Habs' lineup after humiliation

Here is how the Canadiens are set to hit the ice tonight.

Things aren't going well to say the very least for the Montreal Canadiens at the moment. Not only have they lost their 5 last games they are coming off back-to-back humiliations in front of their own fans.

On Saturday the Habs were leading the New York Rangers by a score of 4-0 early in the second period. After completely falling apart and allowing the Rangers to come back, the Canadiens lost the game 6-5 as the Rangers got their revenge for Montreal's historic 2008 comeback. On Tuesday, Claude Julien and his men had something to prove and needed to bounce back. They lost by a whopping 7 goals as the Bruins left Montreal with a 8-1 win.

This has to be one of the lowest points for the Canadiens who absolutely need a positive result as they host the New Jersey Devils this evening. One would think the Julien would make some major modifications to his lineup in order to change his team's fortune, but he appears to have faith in his current system.

There is only one minor change to report as the Habs get ready for tonight's matchup. Nick Cousins will step up to the3rd offensive line alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Joel Armia as Charles Hudon takes his spot on the 4th line with Nate Thompson and Jordan Weal.

Despite his recent results, his lacklustre performances and the fact that he allowed 5 goals on 15 shots before being replaced by Keith Kinkaid on Tuesday, Carey Price will get a chance to make amends tonight as he gets the start in front of Montreal's net.

Here is the Habs' projected lineup for tonight's match against the Devils according to NHL.com correspondent Sean Farrell:

Forwards:

Tomas Tatar - Phillip Danault - Brendan Gallagher

Artturi Lehkonen - Max Domi - Nick Suzuki

Nick Cousins - Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Joel Armia

Charles Hudon - Nate Thompson - Jordan Weal

Defencemen:

Ben Chiarot - Shea Weber

Victor Mete - Jeff Petry

Mike Reilly - Cale Fleury

Goaltenders:

Carey Price

Keith Kinkaid

Brett Kulak and Christian Folin are set to left aside for tonight's game. Jonathan Drouin and Paul Byron are still recovering from their injuries.

The Devils visited the Canadiens on November 16th. PK Subban was kept off the score sheet, but the Devils got the victory in the overtime by a score of 4-3. Montreal will look for revenge tonight.

Great Hockey ahead!
