The Pittsburgh Penguins have been dealt unlucky cards since the start of the 2019-20 season with many forwards being sidelined with injuries and general manager Jim Rutherford is hard at work, trying to find a solution to make sure his team doesn’t end up falling behind early into the campaign.

It has been reported that the Penguins might be looking at one in the camp of the New York Islanders - yes, the team that swept them in four games in the first round of the postseason last spring.

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now reports a source claims the Penguins have kicked tires on Joshua Ho-Sang. The Islanders winger cleared waivers two weeks ago and has requested a trade.

The Pens have reportedly made contact with Isles GM Lou Lamoriello.

The Islanders selected Ho-Sang as theirfirst-round pick, 28th overall,  in 2015, but he was a controversial selection. Most experts projected him as a high pick, there was chatter around the league that he needed to gain in maturity. Ho-Sang showed up late in his first training camp and New York immediately demoted him. It’s been a struggle for him to earn trust with the Islanders, which might end up leading to a trade after all.

Could it be to the Pens? We all know he wouldn't be able to wear number 66 in Pittsburgh...
