PHOTOS: Slapshot breaks Brian Elliot's cup.

In order to play goalie in the NHL it takes an extraordinary amount of skill but also a ton of protection. If you are going to face shot going literally 100+ mile per hour shots you better be protected, especially where it hurts the most. Brian Elliott had an experience with this in tonight's game as a puck hit him so hard below the belt, it cracked his protective cup. There are a lot of pads but none more important than this one. What a champion.
