They made the mistake again and fans are upset.

The Nashville Predators haven’t learned from their past mistakes. While they are believed to be strong contender to make it to the Stanley Cup final this season, they need to take the importance of banners and celebrations more seriously…

Back in October 2018, the Predators celebrated their 2017–18 season with some weird banners. One banner for winning the Presidents’ Trophy for the NHL’s best regular-season record - this one, we can accept. But then, one for winning the Central Division (sure) and one for being Western Conference champions. That one was plain stupid: the regular season Western Conference championship is not a thing.

On Thursday night, the Preds had a moment for their 2018-19 season and again felt the need to celebrate with another banner. They added another one for winning the Central Division. They make a big deal out of it and fans are tired of it…

Fans in Music City want the real celebration and banner: the one that says you’re champions OF EVERYTHING! We know that most teams have a banner for finishing first in the division, but they don’t make a big deal out of it and salute the fans!

Former Predators defenseman P.K. Subban even made fun of his previous team in his introductory interview with the New Jersey Devils during the offseason.

When asked what makes him excited to play in New Jersey, Subban had this tongue-in-cheek reply:

Look up at the rafters, what do you see? I see some banners, some ‘real’ banners…”

Yeah, we kinda feel what he meant with this useless celebration… At least, fans left the arena with something to celebrate: a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild!
