It's an interesting turn of events.

We wrote about him a few times in the last weeks because he's worth a lot of interest. Tucker Poolman is still playing with the University of North Dakota but he attracts a lot of attention by his size and skills.

He suffered a left shoulder injury a few days ago and it changed a lot of things for him. After 3 years with the Fighting Hawks, he still had a year of eligibility before being forced to quit the team. The injury had him reconsider the best plan and he put the pro contract on hold for a few days.

In an interesting turn of event, he signed a one year, entry level contract with the Jets today. This contract will let him play with the AHL Manitoba Moose and experience the professional level of hockey he's expected to provide. By signing the contract, he forfeited his amateur status and thus, his career with the U. of North Dakota. He had an excellent 72 points in 118 games there, a very decent production for a defenseman.

Welcome to the family Tucker!
