This just in, the Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly signed restricted free agent defenseman Ivan Provorov to a six year contract. This according to a report from TSN’s Bob McKenzie:

McKenzie’s counterpart at Sportsnet, Elliotte Friedman, is reporting that Provorov’s deal will be worth $6.75 million per season.

Check it out:

Not going to lie… that’s incredible value for one of the league’ rising young defensemen. The 22 year old Provorov struggled in 2018-19, but put up 17 goals and 41 points in 82 games with the Flyers just a season ago. Should he continue along that trajectory, there’s no telling how good this kid could be.

With Provorov and Zach Werenski of the Columbus Blue Jackets re-upping this week all eyes are on Boston Bruins defender Charlie McAvoy to put pen to paper now.
