Rangers’ draft pick Adam Sykora insults Brad Marchand with back-handed compliment

On the second day of the NHL Draft on Friday in Montreal, the New York Rangers took Adam Sykora at No. 63.

This is a good pick for the Blue Shirts as Sykora surprised many by making Slovakia’s World Championship team. The prospect forward wasn’t done shocking when he commented his style of play after he was selected by New York. When asked about, he managed to insult Boston Bruins’ star forward Brad Marchand with a back-handed compliment, per Arthur Staples of the Athletic. 

“He’s a rat. I try to play a little like him.”

Sykora is known for his wheels and his determination to get to the hard areas of the ice and competes. We get why he feels he can play like Brad Marchand.

I wonder what Marchand will have to say about his “compliment”.
