Unrestricted free agents have now been allow to discuss with the teams of their choice, with the aim of signing a new contract for July 1st and clubs are doing all they can to lure the most coveted ones to their market.

Ever since Columbus Blue Jackets forward Artemi Panarin has made it clear he wants to test out the market, he has quickly become the most coveted player available and teams are doing their best to have him sign with them.

Panarin, who once said he would prefer to play for a bigger market, is in New York City today to meet with Rangers’ management, but the team did a major faux-pas as they tried to impress the star player…

The Rangers are looking to be quite aggressive in trying to sign Panarin and one of their efforts to impress him came in a picture posted on the Jumbotron of the Madison Square Garden. On it, you can see Panarin in a Rangers uniform with the message: Welcome Artemi.

The problem is that the staff member who used Photoshop to put Panarin’s face on a Rangers’ player’s body didn’t make sure to choice a guy that is right handed like Panarin… On the image, you can notice that Panarin shoots left - but we all know the left winger shoots right…

Sure it is a small mistake, but it also takes away some credibility to the Rangers and their attempt to lure Panarin to NYC. Teams will be fighting hard to land his services so every single details matter.

One thing is sure: one employee will be have to meet with management to explain this!
