According to Larry Brooks from the New York post, the New York Rangers have contacted Tampa Bay lightning's general manager steve Yzerman to inquire about young forward, Jonathan Drouin.

Apparently, general manager Jeff Gorton has proposed Keith Yandle, who will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, and a draft pick for the upcoming draft, in return for the 2013 third overall selection.

It would be a really fair deal, but Drouin's case is not a priority for the Lightning. Steve Yzerman would probably like to sign Steven Stamkos to a contract extension before anything else.

Both teams have worked together in the past, especially for the Martin St-Louis - Ryan Callahan trade.
