Ouch... can the Preds hold out?

The Nashville Predators are in a tough spot with a first round playoff matchup against the Colorado Avalanche and... well... things just got a bit tougher for the 16th seed.

Preds coach John Hynes today confirmed that the team will be without the services of starting goaltender Juuse Saros for at least the first two games of the series as Saros recovers from a suspected ankle sprain.

And here's the thing...

Even IF Saros returns for the balance of the series, what sort of shape will he be in? Recovering from an ankle injury is one of the most difficult things a goaltender can do and I have serious doubts that if/when Saros does return that he'll be playing up to his capabilities. Honestly, I'd be worried about creating lasting damage to his ankle by rushing him back. Tough spot for the Preds, for sure.
