That's a strong statement, even a few days after a tough elimination...

We all know how painful was the Washington Capitals' elimination last week. The fans, the players and the management thought the 2016-17 edition could make it to the final, and eventually win it all. It obviously did not happen and a big part of the blame was put on Alex Ovechkin, who is now the center of numerous trade rumours.

Every player commented the team's elimination. Defencemen Karl Alzner and Kevin Shattenkirk, among others, admitted it was an "extreme disappointment." 

However, according to KHL insider and European scout Aivis Kalnins, Caps' centerman Evgeny Kuznetsov was a little more critic than his teammates...


When you acknowledge that even one of the greatest hockey player of all time couldn't help your team, there is clearly a problem. If I would be head coach Barry Trotz or GM Brian MacLellan, I wouldn't like to hear such declarations from one of my key players...
