The Montreal Canadiens have confirmed a significant injury in their line up.

On Monday Habs head coach Michel Therrien confirmed that rookie forward Artturi Lehkonen is headed to injured reserve, and furthermore that the team will make a call up later in the day to replace him, although Therrien did not hint at who that might be.

The bad news here is that Lehkonen has already burnt the first year of his entry level deal with 12 games played this season, although it seems clear the Habs intend to use him far more than that and will likely have him quickly back in the line up when healthy.

Lehkonen has two goals and one assist on the season for Montreal this far.
