REPORT: Jimmy Vesey Could Join The Habs

According to TVA Sports and ESPN, Jimmy Vesey could potentially join the Montreal Canadiens.

The 23-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, August 16^th, contrary to popular belief which states that his UFA status begins at 12:01pm ET today.

Reportedly, the Buffalo Sabres are putting in last-minute efforts to sign the future top-six forward as they currently own his negotiations rights. While Vesey has ruled out the Nashville Predators who originally drafted him, there is certainly no shortage of teams interested in acquiring the Hobey Baker award winner.

The Habs’ current salary cap space of $855, 357 will almost certainly limit GM Marc Bergevin’s chances, though a trade could free up space in order to make room for Vesey.
