Derek Van Diest from NHL.com is reporting that Ryan Strome is ecstatic about joining the Edmonton Oilers this season.

Strome who has had some rocky moments with the New York Islanders was acquired by the Oilers in exchange for Jordan Eberle in one of this summer's biggest blockbuster trades.

"I've always been a winner growing up, I've always been on winning teams, and I think that's what defines great players, and that's what I'm looking to do," Strome said. "I don't think you want to change too much about yourself or put extra pressure on yourself. I want to win, that's what it's all about, and it makes everyone happy, and I think I'm going to get an opportunity to do that here." Strome told NHL.com

Similar to Milan Lucic, Strome is also excited for the potential opportunity to play with Connor McDavid this season. Fun fact, McDavid grew up playing junior hockey with Ryan's younger brother Dylan so there is already a connection between the young dynamic forwards.
