Report: NHL team will name a new captain

According to a report from AP reporter Jim Diamond the Nashville Predators will name a new captain today.

The Preds have been without a captain since Mike Fisher formally retired earlier this summer following a Cinderella run to the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

While rumors and speculation have swirled about who the team’s next captain might be, all signs seem to point to veteran defenseman Roman Josi. But don’t count out P.K. Subban, Ryan Johansen or even Ryan Ellis to wear the “C” this season in Nashville.
