The Edmonton Oilers have announced that they have released four players for their training camp roster on Tuesday. Forwards Ty Rattie and Patrick Russell, defenseman Dillon Simpson and goaltender Nick Ellis will all report to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL.

Ratie, 24, was drafted 32nd overall by the St. Louis Blues in 2011. He played 35 NHL games, scoring four goals and adding six assists for 10 total points. The Oilers signed him as a free agent this summer.

Rusell, 24 was signed as a free agent by the Oilers in May of 2016, after he played two seasons with St.Cloud State in the NCAA. Last season he played 68 games with the Condors (AHL), registering eight goals and nine assists for 17 total points.

Simpson, 24 as well, was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011 (92nd overall). In three AHL seasons, he registered 48 points in 181 games played. Last season, he played three games with the Oilers, without registering a point.

Ellis, 23, was signed as a free agent by the Oilers in April of 2016, after he played three seasons with Providence College in the NCAA. Last season, he played 34 games with the Condors (AHL), with a win-lose record of 16-12, while registering a .918 save percentage along with a goals-against average of 2.69.

With these last cuts, there is still 31 players (2 goaltenders, 10 defensemen and 19 forwards) at the Oilers training camp.
