All of sudden, seemingly out of nowhere, under circumstances no one could have predicted, career National Hockey Player, and goon, John Scott, not only found himself in the All-Star Game, but was suddenly beloved by thousands of fans across the league. Scott was the ultimate underdog, and when he scored two goals and walked away as the All-Star Game's Most Valuable Player award, and a new car that goes with it, it was like a story pulled from a work of fiction.

Unfortunately it now appears that John Scott's underdog story will have one more chapter before what looks like it could be the end. Reports yesterday revealed that Scott had been called up by the Canadiens, a curious move despite the teams struggles this season, and now we know why the move was made.

According to Scott, the organization is doing him a "big favor" with the call up, and furthermore revealed that he will only be sticking around for one game, this week's Tuesday night match up against the Florida Panthers. This could very well be the final match of Scott's NHL career, there are serious doubts, and rightfully so, about the likelihood of him receiving another NHL offer next season.

As for the favor, Habs head coach Michel Therrien told the media that the way Scott has conducted himself since the trade was the reason the Canadiens made the decision to call him up to the main roster for the one game. If it is Scott's last game in the NHL, he is certainly leaving on a high note.
