According to a report yesterday from TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nikita Soshnikov has an out-clause in his contract that allows him to seek a deal in the KHL if he isn’t called up by the Leafs from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies by Nov. 14th.

With the deadline looming next week, could the young Russian force the Leafs into a move? Leafs fans are worried that Soshnikov could pressure the team to call him up or trade him, or otherwise bolt for the KHL. Now his agent has come forward to address the rumors.

Breathe easy, Leafs fans. Niky’s not going anywhere. Coincidentally, the 24-year-old is having a stellar start to the season with the Marlies with 9 points in his first 11 games. After putting up five goals and 9 points in 56 games with the Leafs last season, look for Soshnikov to eventually get his shot with the Buds at some point this season.
