New guy Ryan Spooner is certainly getting his shot with the Vancouver Canucks. Acquired this past weekend from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Sam Gagner is expected to line up on the Canucks’ top line with Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser for tonight’s game against the Arizona Coyotes.

Spooner, who has just three goals this season and is on his third team of the campaign, was expected to play with superstar Connor McDavid in Edmonton but the chemistry never materialized. Here’s hoping he catches fire with another couple young superstars in Pettersson and McDavid.

The former Boston Bruins draft pick has 48 goals and 163 points in 314 career NHL games.
