Report: St. Louis & the Blues celebrating very prematurely.

Not a good look for the Blues.

The St. Louis Blues have just committed a cardinal sin and if they fail to capture the Stanley Cup Championship either tonight or in Game 7 in Boston there will be plenty of those who point back to this moment, and to the hubris of the Blues and the city of St. Louis, as the moment that may have jinxed it all.

First, a user on twitter leaked an email from the St. Louis Post Dispatch after that publication made a catastrophic error this morning when it comes to the electronic release of their publication. As you will be able to see from the images below, the Dispatch leaked information that should have been reserved for the eventuality of a St. Louis Blues win on home ice. That game of course has not yet transpired and like all of us the Dispatch has absolutely no idea in regards to who is going to win this game, but they certainly do have the ability to jinx the home team just hours before the puck is set to drop in Game 6. It is not just the Dispatch however that is preemptively celebrating the Blues win however.

A report from FOX's Ruthie Polinsky has revealed that the St. Louis Blues themselves have already prepared for a massive celebration this evening, again a move that may speak to the hubris being shown by the Blues here. Polinsky reports that her sources have informed her that the Blues organization has already rented out the entire top floor of a bar in downtown St. Louis, although she did not disclose the name or specific location of the bar in question. That is of course just a rumor at this time, however I highly doubt that Polinsky would risk damaging her reputation for what is largely a meaningless piece of information.

You can bet your butts however that the Boston Bruins will have caught wind of this by now and furthermore you can bet that these new details will be used to further fuel the motivation of a team that is facing down elimination tonight. Only time will tell if this is a moment that comes back to haunt the St. Louis Blues.
