Report : Superstar player hard on himself

Is he the only one to blame?

The Montreal Canadiens are having the worst start of their organisation season since the 1938-1939 season. Their only win was in their first game of the season, a shoutout victory against the Buffalo Sabres. Since then, they lost six games in a row. In seven games this season, they only scored 11 goals, and they have been scored on 27 times. They allowed five goals or more already three times so far.

Team captain Max Pacioretty took a lot of blame on himself. The American forward only scored one goal this season, and when Montreal Gazette reporter Stu Cowan asked him how was the challenge of being a captain in a team that plays as bas as the Canadiens so far, Pacioretty answered with a lot of honesty.

«That is the challenge … how am I going to go tell my teammates that we got to be better when I’m the worst one on the ice? That’s what keeps you up at night...that’s what keeps me up at night. Trust me, if you guys think I don’t care you got it all wrong. If anything, I think too much and I care too much.»

It's clear that Montreal lacks of offense, and Pacioretty's job has always been to score goals. He did that a lot over the last few years, has he scored 30 goals in five of the last six seasons. He scored 15 goals in 44 games during the half season of 2012-2013 (lockout year).

Montreal fans can certainly blame him for not scoring goals at the moment, but can they blame him of not caring enough?
