Vegas Golden Knights head coach Gerard Gallant has announced some surprising changes to his lineup ahead of tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers. Top prospect defenseman Shea Theodore will be an healthy scratch, and Jon Merrill will take his spot. Gallant also confirmed that forward Brendan Leipsic will be out of the lineup tonight.

Theodore, 22, was drafted 26th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2013. In 76 games played in the NHL, he registered 26 points (regular season and playoffs included). He has one point in three games played with the Golden Knights this season.

Leipsic, 23, was drafted 89th overall by the Nashville Predators in 2012. He never played in Nashville, as he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015. In nine games played in the NHL this season, he registered four points.

Merrill, 25, was drafted 38th overall by the New Jersey Devils in 2010. He registered 88 points in 219 games played in the NHL. He hasn't registered a point in three games with Vegas this season.
