In case you missed it, the Vancouver Canucks scored a well earned victory over Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers last night. Post game Oilers head coach Ken Hitchcock made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the way in which the Canucks handled McDavid, saying that the “tug of war on him was absolutely ridiculous."

Those words ignited a fire under Canucks fans who took to social media to ridicule both Hitchcock and McDavid for wanting special treatment. Wyatt Arndt of The Athletic and Daily Hive took things to another level though, but suggesting that McDavid should learn from San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture if he’s interested in getting more favourable calls from the on ice officials.

Here’s the thing… Couture is an excellent player but… well let’s just say he doesn’t have the most sportsmanlike reputation around the NHL. I mean… look at this dive.

After calling out Couture on Twitter, Couture actually came to his own defense and reverse called out Arndt… somehow former Canucks goalie Eddie Lack got thrown into this mess, as well.

Check out this Twitter thread:

How great is that?! Somehow… and again we’re not sure how, Lack ends up getting chirped the worst in this exchange... a fitting metaphor for his NHL career?
