The Chicago Blackhawks may have another move up their sleeve but now we have conflicting reports.

Despite the fact that there have been many rumors suggesting that the Chicago Blackhawks have been looking at former first round draft pick Alex  Tanguay, Blackhawks insider Scott Powers of The Athletic is now reporting that those rumors are false. According to Powers a source informed him that the Blackhawks "haven't expressed interest in Alex Tanguay as of today."

On the surface the rumors did make some sense, the Blackhawks were rumored ot be one of the teams heavily involved in the mid-August race to acquire college free agent Jimmy Vesey, and with him signing with the Rangers, the addition of a veteran forward at a low cost could fill a need.

With that said Powers is rarely mistaken when it comes to the Blackhawks, so these rumors may very well be hot air.
