It is fair to say last season was a complete disaster for the Colorado Avalanche. They recorded 22 wins, 56 losses and 4 overtime losses for only 48 points. They finished dead last in the NHL, more than 20 points from the 29th position. Therefore, it is not a surprise to know that general manager Joe Sakic is actively looking to make changes to his roster.

The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta believes the Avs may trade one of their players as soon as today:

Sakic has reportedly turned down many deals involving Matt Duchene over the last few weeks, such has the New York Islanders' offer during the NHL draft: defenseman Travis Hamonic, a first-rounder and a prospect. What will it take for him to trade the 26-year-old forward? One could only assume Duchene's value will keep on decreasing if his GM fails to trade him this summer.

What about Tyson Barrie? The 25-year-old defenseman recorded seven goals and 31 assists for 38 points last season: many teams would want him on their roster and may try to make a push for him.
