The goalies saga in Philadelphia has been raging all year long. Both Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth are quality goalies stuck in a weird situation that could end soon enough.
According to Elliotte Friedman, arguably one of the most reputable analyst and insider in the league, Steve Mason could end up in Winnipeg as soon as next week. After exhausting a 3 years, 12,3M$ deal in Philly, the huge goalie could move up North for yet to be discovered terms.
Of course, the Jets would be salivating at the idea of locking in such a quality goalie for years and finally fixing their problems between the pipes. Mason brings a lot of experience and skills and could carry the team deep next year, while the attack grows into an offensive machine. The Jets have the Cap space for such a move too, with about 18M$ to sign a goalie and a few minor pieces of the roster. 2018-2019 will be a lot more complicated for them though, so Mason could get a less money, more years type of deal.
The next week will be crazy folks!
