Rumor: Leafs potentially involved in blockbuster trade rumor.

The Toronto Maple Leafs may be connected to the blockbuster trade rumor that broke this morning.

For those who missed it, CSNNE's Jimmy Murphy reported earlier this morning that two National Hockey League executives confirmed the fact that the Ducks are discussing the possibility of trading defenseman Hampus Lindholm, a revelation that is nothing short of shocking. However a second and entirely unrelated report appears to be pointing to the fact Toronto could be involved on this deal in some form. Michael Aguello of Hockey Buzz has reported that scouts from the Anaheim Ducks organization have been following the Leafs on their most recent road trip, and while it's only speculative at this point, it's hard not to connect the dots between the two rumors.

The Leafs and Ducks have made several trades with one another as of late, so if Toronto is involved on Lindholm it would come as little surprise, however if Lindholm were to become a Maple Leaf, that would truly be a trade of epic magnitude.
