The Edmonton Oilers stated that they would be willing to trade the number four pick in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft for a player that would make the club better now, but they may have had their sights set very very high.

According to a report from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli is only interested in one of two NHL players, and both of them are superstars in their respective market. Matheson says the pick will only be moved for either Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators or P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens.

It's an indication of just how valuable Chiarelli believes his pick to be, and furthermore it also lends credence to the rumors that an offer of the #7 and #20 picks from the Arizona Coyotes was rejected by Edmonton. If Matheson is on the mark it would seem unlikely that either of these trades get done, however if this is merely posting from Chiarelli things could change come draft time.
