Rumor: Trade rumors fly as things “may get ugly” during arbitration.

One really has to question this decision from the team.

Despite the fact that Colorado Avalanche general manager has done his best to try and convince everyone that it's not the case, it appears that both highly talented restricted free agent defenseman Tyson Barrie and the Avalanche organization have any interest of continuing their relationship together.

The trade rumors around Barrie picked up steam again earlier this week when it was revealed that there was a large gap between player and team when it came to a new contract, and now we have yet another indicator that the two sides just don't see eye to eye.

TSN's James Mirtle has reported that Barrie and the Avalanche are the only player/team combination to have failed to settle their differences prior to arbitration, and warned that things "may get ugly" between the two sides before anything gets done.

It really does genuinely sound like neither party wants anything to do with the other, and with the rumored tensions between head coach Patrick Roy and Barrie, it should come as little surprise.
