Ryan Reaves and Matt Rempe drop the gloves at center ice!
The fight that everyone has been waiting for happens at center ice on Saturday night!
It was the one that everyone had been waiting for and it did not disappoint.
On Saturday night, during the third period of a clash between the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs, Matt Rempe and Ryan Reaves dropped the gloves for an extremely anticipated hockey fight.
It took a while for the fight to happen with Rempe initially appearing to have relatively little interest after Reaves seemed to challenge him during a shift in the first period.
What may have made the fight inevitable however was a hit that Rempe delivered to Maple Leafs defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin during the final moments of the second period. Lyubushkin would not come out for the third, an indication that he was likely injured on the hit from Rempe, and that in turn would result in the fight between the two big men at center ice.
