The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a a rough season, one that including trading one of their top forwards, firing their head coach, bringing in the controversial John Tortorella, and are one of the worst teams in the National Hockey League.

It hasn't been all bad though, and one of the bright spots for the Blue Jackets has been the play of Brandon Saad, who was rumored to have been exiled to Columbus by general manager Stan Bowman for not taking a team friendly deal. Saad has embraced his role with the Blue Jackets, and has maintained the scoring pace he showed with the Blackhawks.

He's also maintained his level of physical play, something that has been bolstered by the additional muscle he's put on this year, a fact Buffalo Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian learned the hard way on Friday night. Saad used his physical play on the forecheck when he caught Bogosian flat-footed and took him off his skates with a punishing hit, one that had the added bonus of drawing a penalty.
