Managing a NHL franchise is not that easy to do. You need quality personnel to make key decisions in real time and the room for mistakes is very thin. Needless to say, hiring rookies for the job would be disastrous.
Today, the Sabres hired a very experienced Director of Amateur Scouting in Ryan Jankwoski.
Jonkowski might not been known that much in the general public, but his work with Hockey Canada was key. He managed youngster through the many levels of Canadian hockey and obviously knows a lot about evaluating and managing prospects. He will be a great addition to the Sabres, who are rebuilding the franchise almost from the ground up.
Good luck in Buffalo sir!
