Last month, former NHL forward Sean Avery attempted a comeback with the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears – an affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning. It didn’t last long. A day after the agreement was in place, Avery was released by the team, with the pest stating that he’s the one who left because he missed his son too much.
Avery hasn’t played a professional hockey game since he retired back in 2012, but he’s evidently serious about getting back out there and making a name for himself once again. But for now, he keeps playing for amateur leagues and the Spittin' Chiclets shared a video of Avery in action during a random minor-league hockey game, and he remains the biggest jerk on the ice.
As you can tell from the video, Avery has not changed one bit on the ice:
His reputation won’t change, that’s for sure… and he does not intend to make it better, as he's the one sharing the video in the first place.
Avery appeared in 580 NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings , Los Angeles Kings , Dallas Stars and New York Rangers , collecting 247 points and 1,533 penalty minutes over 10 seasons. His career totals were 90 goals and 157 assists for 247 points.
The infamous tough guy, who went undrafted, will turn 42 years old in September, recorded just 3 goals in 15 games with the Rangers in 2012 on top of picking up 21 penalty minutes.
How many would it have gotten for this move in the NHL? Yeah, more like how long would his suspension have been!
