The news sent shockwaves all across the National Hockey League when the Chicago Blackhawks fired head coach Joel Quenneville on Tuesday, after his three Stanley Cup titles and nine playoff appearances with the team.

"This is certainly a very difficult decision," general manager Stan Bowman said in a statement. "But I believe it is in the best interests of the Blackhawks organization. We need to maximize each and every opportunity with our playoff goals in mind and create continued growth and development throughout our roster at the same time.
"After much deliberation the last several days, with great respect to what Joel has meant to the Blackhawks, we knew we had to make a change."

This major change in Chicago is expected to have an even greater impact on the rest of the League as The Hockey Central at Noon guys broke down teams in the NHL who they feel could seriously consider firing their coach now that Quenneville is available.

You can see the whole analysis of this situation in the video above, atop of this article.

First of, almost as an unanimous choice, the panel elected the Detroit Red Wings as one of the team already looking at firing head coach Jeff Blashill to make room for Quenneville. While NHL insider Nick Kypreos believes the Wings would quickly pounce on Quenneville, host Jeff Marek suggested that if Detroit were to make a change behind the bench, the club would probably opt for assistant coach Dan Bylsma, who will already with the team and has had great success in previous seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Marek then mentioned the Columbus Blue Jackets, who already have the massive undertaking to convince pending free agents Artemi Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky this year, as a team who could look to contact Quenneville. Despite the fact that current Jackets coach John Tortorella has recently signed an extension, can you afford to pass up on Quennville at such an important time in franchise's history?

Without a doubt, the St. Louis Blues were also mentioned in the analysis as even the head coach himself Mike Yeo has revealed he deserves to be fired... Marek, Kypreos and Colby Armstrong also think the Anaheim Ducks would consider it as Randy Carlyle and the team have been struggling since the start of the season and could be looking to move in a different direction.

The panel also mentioned the possibility of Quenneville waiting a few years until the 32nd team joins the league in Seattle and then becoming the first head coach of the expansion team then. Kypreos also noted that Dave Tippett, who was hired as a consultant in Seattle, is Quenneville's best friend and could persuade him to join the gang for a new adventure in Seattle...

The Philadelphia Flyers were also mentioned quick in passing during the analysis. After 15 games, the Flyers are now 7-7-1 and could be looking for a change behind the bench to motivate players and move in a different direction before it's too late...

Who knows? However, one thing is clear: Joel Quenneville is on the free agent market and many teams would love to have him behind their bench!
