Jamie Benn and the Stars agree on a massive new deal.

The Dallas Stars as everyone expected they would signed their captain, and he got a new max term contract worth a whopping $76 million dollars.

It's a tremendous commitment to Benn, $9.5 million average annual value over the next eight years, but there's no doubt that as one of the most dominant players in the NHL over the past few seasons, he's earned it.

Over those two seasons with Dallas, Benn has played in 164 games, and in those games he has recorded 76 goals, 100 assists for a total of 176 points. He earned himself the Art Ross in the 2014-2015 season, and as the team's captain he presumably also fills some form of a leadership role on the team as well.

It's a big commitment, but you don't get many chances to sign players like Jamie Benn.
