Despite beginning to turn around what seemed like a disaster of a season, Sidney Crosby will miss his 10th NHL All-Star Game in 11 years.

The reason? He wasn't chosen to be on this year's roster.

The Pittsburgh Penguins captain was a notable omission from the Metropolitan Division's 10-man roster for the Jan. 31 in Nashville.

The Penguins will be represented by forward Evgeni Malkin and defenseman Kris Letang at the game.

The 28-year-old centre has 12 goals and 31 points in 38 games this season, but began the season with only 9 points in the first 18 games.

Crosby has missed three All-Star Games due to injury, and has missed five to play in the Olympics.
