
Team USA unveils their leadership group and fans are not happy.
We are just days away from the return of National Hockey League superstars at the Olympic Games and you can feel the palpable excitement in the hockey community as fans from all over the world turn their eyes towards Milan, Italy.
On Sunday we got a number of announcements regarding the teams that will be competing in this tournament including Canada announcing it's leadership group and Team USA giving us an early look at what their lineup will look like, and now we have even more information about the American squad with USA Hockey unveiling their leadership group for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
The team will be lead by Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews who will once again don a "C" on his jersey, and he will be accompanied by alternate captains Charlie McAvoy of the Boston Bruins and Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers.
While the news to the announcement of Canada's leadership group was well received by fans earlier in the day, the same can't be said when it comes to this announcement from USA Hockey. Fans have expressed concerns about the men picked for the job, with those concerns centering around Auston Matthews as the choice for captain.

The responses have been pretty fiery to say the least, but of course all of the men selected by USA Hockey today will get a chance to prove their doubters wrong when they hit the ice this coming Thursday.
