The Vancouver Canucks could add a prospect to their blue line before the end of the season.

Canucks general manager Jim Benning confirmed Friday that the club is actively trying to sign Russian prospect Nikita Tryamkin.

Tryamkin, who is a 2014 third-round draft pick by the Canucks, just finished his fourth season with Yekaterinburg Automobilist of the KHL.

The 21-year-old defenseman recorded four goals and 11 assists while accumulating 71 penalty minutes in 53 games this season.

Benning has begun negotiations to bring him over to the team as quickly as possible.

Hopefully they will find a way to have him get a few games in this season.
