Forward Luke Kunin is now a member of the San Jose Sharks. The Nashville Predators moved Kunin during the second day of the NHL Draft in Montreal on Friday.
In return, the Preds acquire young forward John Leonard and a third-round pick in 2023.
The 24-year-old forward had 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points while appearing in all 82 games last season for the Preds. He was selected No. 15 overall by the Minnesota Wild in the 2016 NHL Draft.
This is therefore the second time Kunin has been dealt, going Minny to Nashville in October of 2020 in a deal involving forward Nick Bonino.
Kunin’s two-year, $4.6 million deal ($2.3 million cap hit) expired at the end of last season and is scheduled to become an RFA this summer.
