There are certain things about hockey that simply separate it from other professional sports. There are things you’ll see during an NHL game that you’ll never see in the NBA, NFL or MLB. 

Bare knuckle fighting DURING the game? Sure… the other sports have that… sometimes… but let’s be real, it looks pretty pathetic compared to a hockey fight. In the NHL it happens almost every game. It’s just part of the game. NFL aside, no other sport comes close to being as physical as hockey. Add in the fact that there is no “out of bounds” in a hockey rink and things get even more physical. In football you can run out of bounds to avoid getting smashed, in hockey you can run (skate, but you can’t hide. If your opponent wants to smash you, you’re getting smashed.
