Tkachuk joining an elite club tonight.

Matthew Tkachuk is already blowing past expectations since his NHL debut this year. With 39 points in 57 games before tonight, the first rounder has an exceptional introductory season. 

Tonight, he joins an elite club of alumni Flames. With his assist on Backlund's goal, Tkachuk reached the 40 points threshold. Interestingly, he's the fourth Calgary players to do that so quickly in the history of the team. Beside him stand Dan Quinn, Robert Reichel and Jarome Iginla. Not too bad of a crew to share a beer, right? 

There are still more than 20 games remaining in the season and Tkachuk could make a strong statement by keeping the pace. With everyone talking about Laine and Matthews, there's still plenty of excitement to be had in Calgary nonetheless.
