The New York Islanders and Washington Capitals officially dropped the puck on their opening round Stanley Cup Playoff series and... well leave it to Caps forward Tom Wilson to kick things off with a bang.

Late in a scoreless first period, Wilson took exception to Isles captain Anders Lee and his hit on Caps star Nicklas Backstrom, so Wilson did what he does best... beat the wheels of of people. Check out this spirited scrap and pay close attention to the heavy right handed uppercuts that Wilson lands before Lee falls to the ice.

Oof... those are some heavy hands. And don't be fooled, Lee is no powderpuff. The 6 foot, 3 inch, 230 pounder has more than enough size and strength to handle himself out there. This is simply a matter of Wilson being more experienced when it comes to dropping the gloves.

Here's hoping that this is a sign of things to come in what should be a very physical series.
