Top insider believes we will see adds on NHL jerseys.

It sounds like advertising is coming to National Hockey League jerseys and it may not be long before it arrives either.

TSN senior correspondent Rick Westhead, arguably the top NHL business insider, broke a story today regarding advertisements coming to jerseys of Toronto's NBA team the Raptors. 

As a result Westhead was a guest on TSN radio today where he was asked if the same could soon come to the jerseys' of the Toronto Maple Leafs. After all both the Raptors and the Leafs are owned by the same organization.

Westhead's response left no doubt about where he thinks things are head.

"At some point the teams will say yes that makes it worthwhile."

Westhead believes things will begin with a patch much like the one featured on jersey's for American Hockey League organizations, and he believes it's now just a matter of time.

"I can't help but think it's inevitable."
