We’re a little more than a month away from the opening of the 2017-18 season, and already players are caught up in the rumor mill, sitting ready on the trade block.

Matt Larkin of The Hockey News has revealed the names of 10 trade candidates for the upcoming campaign, and though some have been mentioned throughout the summer, others are just getting started to get dizzy in the mill!

The Vancouver Canucks should get back into the playoff race, and can finally count on young players to contribute, such as Ben Hutton and Troy Stecher behind Chris Tanev.

It all points to Erik Gudbranson suddenly not being a « must-keep piece, especially when the Canucks will want to make room for stud Olli Juolevi and other prospects like Jalen Chatfield, Guillaume Brisebois and Jordan Subban eventually, » writes Larkin.

Several teams might be interested to land Gudbranson, who adds grit and size, which is helpful down the line in the post-season.

General manager Jim Benning could get a good return for him.

Stay tuned!
